Understanding Dementia and Positive Care In-Person

Cost: $25 for 6 week series, paid to instructor.

This sequential course empowers families, workers, and community members with accurate information to improve relationships through Teepa Snow's "Positive Approach to Care." Each session builds on previous learnings to foster deep understanding and practical skills for supporting those living with dementia. The course will meet in the Library's Steinberg Room.

About the Instructor: Rev. Eileen, a lifelong Ulster County resident, established H.E.A.R.T.S. (Respite for All) in 2022 to support families navigating dementia and Alzheimer's. Drawing from her learning and personal experience since 2018, she is dedicated to empowering caregivers and the community to improve daily lives through this specialized outreach.

Attendees will receive a certificate of completion after the six weeks. With that certificate comes the opportunity to pursue further training with Positive Approach to Care. Please let the library know if the cost is a barrier to accessing this training.
