Young Adult Intellectual Freedom Advocates In-Person
The Young Adult Freedom to Read Teen Advocates a project for teens and young adults to advocate for intellectual freedom, fight censorship and book bans, and much more
Participants will learn how to:
- Appreciate the role and history of the library in American society
- Learn about civic engagement
- Discover and discuss student rights
- Strengthen skills in public speaking, writing, community-building, networking, advocacy, and self-care
- Grow personal self-awareness and self-reflection skills
- Defend and exercise the freedom to read

Responsibilities
Young Adult Intellectual Freedom Advocates meet in person on two Tuesdays of each month from 5 - 6:30 pm. They also may attend occasional virtual Intellectual Freedom Teen Meetups and field trips.
