Presentation: History of 93 Main [hybrid]

Presentation: History of 93 Main [hybrid] In-Person / Online

From HHHC Coordinator Carol Johnson: "Back in 2020 a committee was formed to celebrate the library's centennial at 93 Main. That committee made several plans for events throughout that year.  Unfortunately Covid hit and the Library closed and then opened with limited services. The talk I am giving was written back then for the centennial celebration planned for October 9, 2020 and is about the history of 93 Main. I am announcing for the first time the date the building was built based upon the findings of a dendrochronology report that we had done."

Registration is not required, but encouraged. All registrants will receive a reminder email the day before the program.

In October of 1920, the Elting Memorial Library opened its doors to the community at its new location at 93 Main Street. Planned celebrations to commemorate the 100th anniversary were interrupted by the pandemic, so the library community was not able to celebrate this milestone together. This year, 2025, marks the 105th anniversary of the library's location at 93 Main Street.
